MSN, BSN, RN, LNC, CPPS, NCPMT, CNE — Founder & CEO, UPvision Consulting, LLC
When attorneys, healthcare organizations, and professionals face medically complex situations, they need more than information. They need clarity, insight, and a trusted guide who understands both the clinical realities of healthcare and the strategic demands of legal and organizational decision-making. That's where I come in.
I'm Jaimee Gerrie, founder and CEO of UPvision Consulting, LLC, a legal nurse consulting and healthcare consulting firm dedicated to helping clients navigate complicated medical, legal, and professional challenges with confidence.
For more than three decades, I have worked across healthcare, leadership, education, patient safety, risk management, mediation, and legal nurse consulting. That experience allows me to see cases and healthcare issues from multiple perspectives, connecting the clinical facts, human factors, standards of care, and organizational realities that often determine outcomes.
Whether I'm helping an attorney evaluate a potential case, assisting a healthcare organization with patient safety initiatives, educating future nurses, supporting litigation strategy, or facilitating resolution through mediation, my goal remains the same:
My approach is practical, objective, and evidence-driven. I don't believe in forcing facts to fit a theory. I believe in finding the truth within the evidence and helping clients understand its significance.
My professional foundation is nursing. I have always believed that growth happens when we continue learning and expanding our perspective — a belief that has carried me through nearly every level of healthcare practice and leadership.
Those experiences later became the foundation for my work in legal nurse consulting and mediation.
A Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lake Superior State University, followed by a Master of Science in Nursing with an emphasis in Leadership and Management from Walden University — plus additional certifications pursued along the way.
I began at the bedside as a registered nurse caring for patients in medical-surgical nursing, critical care, emergency services, obstetrics, dialysis, transport nursing, long-term care, and home health. Those experiences taught me how healthcare truly works, not just on paper, but in real clinical environments where professionals make difficult decisions every day.
As my career evolved, I moved into healthcare leadership roles including Director of Nursing, Nursing Consultant, and clinical operations leader. I managed large nursing teams, oversaw quality improvement initiatives, led patient safety efforts, developed clinical programs, managed regulatory compliance activities, and worked directly on system improvements designed to improve patient outcomes.
One of my greatest professional passions has been helping organizations strengthen healthcare systems before problems become crises. I've spent years analyzing risk, improving communication, evaluating standards of care, mentoring nurses, developing leadership programs, and supporting quality improvement efforts throughout healthcare organizations.

I've spent years analyzing risk, improving communication, evaluating standards of care, mentoring nurses, developing leadership programs, and supporting quality improvement efforts throughout healthcare organizations.
Throughout my career, I noticed a recurring challenge. Healthcare professionals understand medicine. Attorneys understand the law. But there is often a significant gap between those two worlds — medical records contain facts, but facts alone rarely tell the full story.
Healthcare organizations face similar questions when evaluating patient safety events, quality concerns, documentation issues, and regulatory challenges. I founded UPvision Consulting to bridge those gaps — with an approach that is practical, objective, and evidence-driven. I don't believe in forcing facts to fit a theory. I believe in finding the truth within the evidence, and helping clients understand its significance.
What happened clinically?
Did the care meet the applicable standard of care?
What information is missing?
What questions should be asked?
What risks are present?
How do the medical facts impact the legal issues?
Teaching has always been one of the most meaningful parts of my professional journey. I currently serve as an Associate Professor of Nursing at Lake Superior State University, where I teach undergraduate nursing students across classroom, clinical, simulation, and virtual learning environments. Throughout my academic career, I have taught nursing theory, leadership, management, quality improvement, standards of care, patient safety, and clinical practice.
Beyond the classroom, I have helped develop nursing curricula, contributed to accreditation initiatives, advised students, and designed educational programs, including a Post-Baccalaureate Rural Nurse Residency Program designed to support the future of rural healthcare.
As a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE), I believe that education should do more than provide information. It should transform how people think. That philosophy drives every course, workshop, presentation, conference session, and mentorship opportunity I create.

As a Legal Nurse Consultant, Certified Mediator, and Mediator Trainer, I have developed a particular passion for helping resolve conflict through informed decision-making and effective communication.
My work frequently involves helping attorneys understand medical evidence, identify critical issues, evaluate standards of care, locate expert resources, and prepare for litigation, mediation, or trial. At the same time, mediation allows me to help people move beyond conflict toward resolution. I often describe legal nurse consultants as translators — we translate healthcare into language that attorneys, judges, mediators, juries, organizations, and decision-makers can understand. That ability to bridge communication gaps often makes the difference between confusion and clarity.
One of my proudest professional accomplishments is creating The Attorney's Resource Conference (ARC). ARC was built around a simple idea: better healthcare understanding leads to better legal outcomes.
The conference brings together attorneys, legal nurse consultants, healthcare professionals, expert witnesses, and industry leaders to explore the complex medical issues that influence healthcare-related litigation. By creating opportunities for meaningful collaboration between law and healthcare professionals, ARC helps break down barriers that have traditionally separated the two disciplines.
I am passionate about advancing the professions of nursing, legal nurse consulting, leadership, and mediation through education and thought leadership.

When clients work with UPvision Consulting, they can expect more than a medical record review. They can expect:

More than 30 years of healthcare experience across clinical practice, leadership, education, patient safety, and legal consulting.

An evidence-based approach focused on facts, not assumptions.

A deep understanding of how clinical issues impact legal, organizational, and financial outcomes.

Complex medical information translated into practical, understandable language.

Honest assessments grounded in standards of care and credible evidence.

A commitment to building long-term relationships based on trust, service, and results.
While I take my work seriously, I also believe that meaningful professional relationships are built through authenticity and genuine connection. I enjoy teaching, mentoring, writing, speaking, building new initiatives, and helping professionals grow into leadership roles. I love bringing people together, solving difficult problems, and tackling the cases that cause everyone else to pause and ask, "Where do we even begin?" Those moments are often where the greatest opportunities for clarity and transformation exist.
At the end of the day, my work is not really about medical records, litigation, regulations, or reports. It's about helping people make better decisions. And when those decisions impact patients, organizations, careers, or legal outcomes, that responsibility matters.

You don't need to have all the answers before reaching out — start with the question, and together we'll determine the best path forward.
